Improving grammar and fluency
with everyday topics.

Each session prioritizes one grammar rule through a daily conversation with some degree of preparation and help.

01

Topic announced

There is a different topic every week, something relevant to everyday life and to English proficiency.

02

You research

You are encouraged to, but not forced to, look into the topic and prepare yourself in advance.

03

Everyone presents

During the session, each person shares something relevant to the topic and has the opportunity to ask anything they don't understand.

04

Questions

Questions both about the topic and about English itself are encouraged and important to actually improve.

A speaking club for high schoolers learning English

Anybody who can hold a basic conversation in English and wants to improve their fluency or just practice speaking is welcome! This is not a class, but rather a space to improve fluency and provide help with any struggles in the English language.

No tests, no grades

This is not a class. You will not be graded, corrected with no reason or explanation, or made to feel behind.

Exam-aware scheduling

We understand that many students are busy with school, and therefore, you are not expected to attend every session, and sessions are lighter especially during exam periods.

Led by a volunteer

The program is led by a Turkish high school student in the US who leads every session, understands the struggles in learning English, and always helps when asked. However, the conversations belong to the group, not just the leader.

Esat Ziya Dönmez

9th grader · Volunteer · English & Turkish speaker

Hi! I'm Esat, a 9th grader in the US who went through the annoying process of learning English myself, with teachers who couldn't explain, grammar rules that didn't make sense, and what felt like infinite words. I started this program to help others going through this very same challenge. Now I speak Turkish, Swedish, and English fluently, German somewhat well, and am learning Spanish and German. In my free time, I like playing the piano, playing videogames, doing sports, watching sports, and reading. I hope to see you soon!
